Removing a front fender
Hey guys,
The PO of my 69 c10 hit a pole so the left fender and grill are damaged, the inside well is okay which is great but the corner of the bumper, the grill and the fender need some work. Anyways I got under there today and started unbolting everything I could and ended up with about 10 1/2 inch screws by following it around the wheel well and up to the grill but its not moving AT ALL. I got the one or 2 under the door are as well, what am I missing? I figured it would budge loose so I could see where it was catching but its as iff i didnt remove anything. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Removing a front fender
thats the cowl and you dont need to take that off...theres a bolt to that and then another one at the bottom under the cab. theres a few connected to the radiator support and the ones from the wheel wells which have 8 bolts on them total. all in all there should be 13 bolts

Alright I have 9 so far, I guess its back to it tomorrow after work. My replacement fender seems to have 2 holes in the part that tucks under the cowl, will only on of those have a bolt? I didnt remove anything behind the grill as its all bent up and hard to work around, I actually want to take it off as well, I just have no idea how and dont want to start unbolting |

I have the 8 in the wheel wells and the one under the cab. I will get to the ones on the radiator tomorrow. Also, are the two at the top by the door the ones under the cowl? |

Re: Removing a front fender
Yes. I believe the two bolts hold both the fender and the cowl in place.

Thank you for the tip, did you guys take off the cowl? I am having trouble picturing how in the world to get to the bolt closest to the door under there. I am going to make a tutorial on this one once I am all done. |

Re: Removing a front fender
Yeah, I don't think the cowl shares bolts with the fender.

Re: Removing a front fender
Hey guys,
So I removed every bolt I could find: A couple under the cowl, a couple under the door 5+ around the wheel well 2 behind the head light 2 under the bumper I STILL cant get it off so I am thinking it is locked up behind the bumper. I am not happy with the PO Here are some pics (I still dont know why they upload sideways): |

Re: Removing a front fender
If you look half way down the back and towards the middle of the inner fender there is a bigger bolt that fastens the inner fender to the cab. Did you find those? Should have a big washer on it.

Re: Removing a front fender
You also need to take the hood off if you haven't already done so.
