I bet its referring to parts being produced there for the trucks. I wouldn't think that would be happening in the 60s & 70s though

I don't know of any measurable trade with Korea back in 67-72. We were just getting rolling with Japan back then,as far as Asian market goes.

GM did have a partnership with an early Korean automaker, but I think they only made a few cars.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong -- I don't see where it says they were assembled there. It's written rather vaguely but I take it to mean they were sold there, as well as in Canada, Brazil, and Chile. And in the US, of course.
