gmc tailgate

I have been seeing in other threads that GMC fleetside tailgate are on the rarer side. My.question is does this apply to the stepside tailgates too. I have seen Chevrolet and smooth repros and Chevrolet originals but no GMC stepside tailgates. Is it desirable?

Re: gmc tailgate

Most of the big vendors have the GMC stepside repops. Classic Industries part #100605. Oem's are hard to find because most rusted out on the bottom.

Re: gmc tailgate

Thank you. I bought a stepside bed for my truck and the guy threw in a oem gmc tailgate in decent shape. Im doing a Chevy so im looking for an oem Chevrolet one. I just wanted to know if it was worth anything. Ill list it after I become a supporting member.
