a-arm shafts. offset or straight? w/ porterbuilt
ok im running a porterbuilt extreme with michigan metal works control arms. i bought the budget arms meaning they didnt come with shafts.
so. my truck is a 72 which uses the shafts that have caps that thread on both ends into the arms. can't use that. so i need to buy new shafts from a 73-87 that work with the drop member. moog k6184 is an offset shaft. do i run these or do i run the straight shafts?

Michigan Metal Works sells a-arms for the Dropmember.
I would give them a call and ask what shaft and bushings to use. I would think the straight oem 73-87 cross shafts would work also.

Re: a-arm shafts. offset or straight? w/ porterbuilt
Ive got the budget arms made for the dropmember. Their shafts cost $200. Moogs are $70.
I thought mine were coming with shafts when i bought them, but they did not. I ordered the moogs. Each shaft came from a different vendor because noone has 2 in stock. Well one vendor sent me the offset shaft and one sent me the straight shaft. Just trying to figure out which one is better to use. Both have the same part number k6184.

The advantage to the offset on is the additional camber you get without adding shims. I went from just a 2.5" drop spindle to the spindle plus one cut coil. I added the offset shafts and they didnt have to adjust the camber at all. Got lucky on that one....

These are all I have, probably doesnt help much but you cant really see a difference with them installed.

Re: a-arm shafts. offset or straight? w/ porterbuilt
You will use the bushings that come with the arm, along with the sleeves that came with the arm, there will be 4 of each with your package.
The arms are designed to be used with 73-87 OEM cross shafts (right off the website) so with that said, you will most likely want to use the regular cross shafts. However, im sure the offset ones would work fine also, they would just require a different amount of shims when you take the truck to get it aligned.

Never used your website. Bought the arms off of a facebook name your price sell.
