window install help

Is it easier to install the window first before the vent window, or can it just as easily be done with the vent window in?

Re: window install help

It can be done with the vent already installed. Patience is what I've learned from doing door glass install!

Re: window install help

I had my windows in and out several times trying to get them working correctly when I put my truck back together after paint. It's easier to take the vent window completely out and take off the outer weather strip that runs horizontally across the door. You need all the room you can get to put the little plastic rollers in the channel at the bottom of the glass. Once you get the glass loosely in place, roll it about 2/3 of the way down and install the vent window and the piece of weather strip you removed.

I'm not even sure if it's possible to put the glass in with the vent window in place. I couldn't do it.

Re: window install help

Also, put lots of tape along the top of the door to keep from scratching your new paint. I managed to scratch mine even with tape!
