1954 grill parts
I need just the bottom pan for my 1954 Chevy grill.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: 1954 grill parts
I got this, I may be able to help. It just pulled the rivets out of the marker light. Pushed it back a little, but repairable. You can see the rest of the truck here. http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/wh...07302542438277
Chev's of the 40's has new, painted grilles for around $600. |

Re: 1954 grill parts
Thanks. I ordered a catalog from them. Page 10 showed the apron beneath the grill and just behind the bumper. Page 1 shows the grill exploded but doesn't list the parts other than the center nose piece.
I was getting my grill ready to go out for re-chroming and noticed two repairs on the bottom piece. Turned out they were full of Bondo covering a very crappy welding job. If I repair my grill I'll have to cut out two spots about 2" long with a compound curve. That equates to a lot of work to make the repair smooth enough to cover with chrome.

Re: 1954 grill parts
I bought another parts truck with a good grille, but the nose piece is smashed.
I was planning on trying to sell the whole grille, or grille minus nose piece. It's still on the truck right now. |

Re: 1954 grill parts
The nose piece is usually first to go. Let me know if you decide to part it out.
gale_gorman@me.com My lower piece cracked at both inside curves and a previous owner did a horrible repair. He was probably proud of it because the filler and paint looked good. I can fabricate two patch pieces but I can see hours of work getting the compound curve just right for chrome.

Re: 1954 grill parts
You just need the part the markers are attached to, right?

Re: 1954 grill parts
Thanks, I found it. There are 0 bids so I'll probably buy this one when the auction ends.
