front sway bar woe's

This is my cpp front sway bar, what am I doing wrong here, I see no way for this to work at all. Someone tell me what how the heck this is suppose to work. thanks

Did the low profile mounts come with the CPP bar or are those something you had before? I would lower the vehicle so it's sitting on the ground and see how much that helps and then it's possible that you might end up mounting the bushings/mount directly to the frame. From what I've read it's actually pretty common.

If the whole setup came from CPP then I would put it on the ground and if that didn't work, contact CPP, I believe that Jeff is still active on here.

Yes its all Cpp, Thanks for the response, Its no closer on the ground, but again the motor is out of it. Maybe I'm wrong but it shouldn't matter,if the links are straight now they won't be then. If it doesn't fit the factory holes, I will get a factory type bar, That's what I should have done anyways, haha

Are those the factory frame mounts or from cpp? It looks like those need to be moved to provide for the sway bar links being used in place of the factory horseshoe shaped mount

Thanks for the response, I know the rear one will have to drilled and fabricated, but I would think the front one would bolt to factory spec. but then again nothing surprises me about this company now.

My bad I went back and reread instructions, it says to line it up and drill, I thought I was getting something else. So my Bad......Cpp front sway bar if anyone needs one.

I have already removed the rivet, and I think I rather have a stock appearing one after looking at it.

You removed the rivet? I don't think you needed to remove the rivet. Mine had holes behind the rivet for the sway bar mount. I think you may have mounted your bracket too far forward. Here's mine. You can just barely see the rivet head in front of the bracket. If I remember correctly, I didn't drill the front hole, only the back one, and the front hole was slotted.

Thanks for the pics..... I'm pretty sure the factory one went to the hole in toward the rear of the slotted hole and then the rivet that holds the front cross member. If I put it in the slotted hole it would be further away. but thanks for the pics, nice truck man

Hmmm, interesting... Sorry it didn't help you. It does look like your brackets could be moved back some though. I believe mine are, but I'm only looking at how close the short side of the bracket is to the bend in the frame. It looks like mine is closer to that bend than yours. That might be why yours isn't lining up? If you go with a factory style sway bar, it might have the same problem. I don't know since I'm not using a CPP bar, and I don't have a factory bar either. If the factory bar isn't longer, you'll probably end up with the same problem. Just a thought. Good Luck!

Those are my thoughts as well. The factory mounting bracket used the crossmember rivet. I have a factory sway bar and ECE lowered frame mounts so I will check tonight and see how they line up. I have not mounted mine yet, but I'll give it a shot to see where the stock bar will hit the frame.

Your CPP bar should mounted to the front mount first.
The Addco brand sway bars come with an angle iron bracket that bolts to the front of stock C10 a-arms.
The end links attach to the top of that bracket,... not thru the top of the a-arm.
Your bar needs to move forward.
