I'm wondering if the red interior items are rare like dash and door panels and visors and such. I think they only repro in black and grey.

They only repo them that color because it is cheaper for tthem ti make it. I always found red to be common. Try finding original green parts.

When I was working in parts at a dealership in the early 80's, most of the replacement plastic and vinyl that was listed as paint or dye to match came in blue. I thought maybe they had a lot of blue surplus, but a regional parts rep told us once that the darker colors (blue, black, grey) were better for dye or paint. Chip.

Well if red is out there I hope I find it too,got some parts in red but not everything

Buy that red spray stuff from lmc l. I painted my new door pulls (which came blue) with it and they turned.out a perfect match. And no cracking or peeling a year later

I am currently looking at an 85 just for the frame and suspention and thought i would sell the rest if i do pick it up and it has a perfect beautiful red dash in it so that is why i was inquiring about the popularity of the red dashes. The truck is in great shapejust havnt pulled the trigger yet

84 had stock red interior. strangley almost every car ive had that was made back when you could get it had red interior.

Mine does, but the interior is shot. I'm going to be looking for burgundy interior parts as well.

Don't forget, back then you could have red M&M's too.

I think it's a matter of what's cheap to produce. My 90's era trucks seemed to have painted dashes. Too crazy on cleaning, and you knew what color it was cast in.

how does that "paint" hold up going from -40 to +40,
I always see lots of junkyard stuff peeling here.
never sure if it's lack of prep or because of the temp changes.
I figure I'd wait to find red and swap out the 78s blue....because my 79 red pad/etc is kinda toast
