Master Cylinder question.

I'm swapping my master cylinder to the one that came on the safari van that I got my hydroboost from. I'd finished the hydroboost swap but the pushrod coming out of the hydroboost isn't long enough to work with the factory master cylinder. Have a few questions that may seem kind of stupid. Will my brake lines work with the M/C from a '94 Safari van? Do I need to bleed the entire sytem at the wheels? Or can I just bench bleed the M/C? Also, what kind of fluid do I use? DOT 3? 4? Thanks in advance for your answers!
