A little more information is needed.

1. Did the fuel gauge work before you changed the tank and sending unit?

2. Did the temp gauge ever work?

3. Has the instrument cluster ever been changed?

LocDoc has some good questions for you.

First thing to do is make sure you have good grounds on everything and good fuses and then we can get to the root of the problem.

Keep us posted

Re: Gage's/wiring HELP

No it has never worked for me I bought this truck earlier this year. I replaced true rusty gas tank yesterday and they used a little empty body lotion for the bobber. Temp gauge has never worked for me it's stuck on hot. I'm not sure if it has been changed or not I'm gonna guess not. I try to clean every ground I find thers so many, I think too many... And all the fuses are good they had this truck so damn obomanized.

You can't have too many grounds.... The reason I asked about the gauge cluster being changed is because people change out the idiot light clusters for gauge clusters and fail to re-wire the connector that plugs into the back of the cluster and it causes all kinds of problems.

Re: Gage's/wiring HELP

It's just be nice to have working gauges for thoes people that hate on Chevys lol. There's a brown wire going from the gas tank and plugs into the fuse board so idk why that one is not working and I haven't bothered to find or look for the temp wire because I know it's not over heating (one thing at a time hah) I will eventually change to a slick digital dash but that's down the road

The temp wire under the hood would be a smaller Dark Green wire. Sometimes it will have a cloth type sleeve over the outside of it. It can be on either side of your engine depending on what engine or what year your truck is.

Read this thread, especially the posts about the grounding.
