how much can i c-notch my frame without cutting into the bed?any suggestions please.my plans are to go air ride suspention front and back thank you.

Any of the bolt in notches will work. There is a thread going now in the suspension section on notches and some good install tips in it.

When you quit making sparks and start making splinters back up an inch or so

I just got the pipe notch done on my '62 with 2" the 12 bolt will be right on the wood aired out.

I did this and worked well. You are limited on the pumpkin hitting the bottom of the wood as mentioned. Some have cut an opening in the bed floor center to allow the pumpkin to travel into the bedspace and take full advantage of a deep notch, but you will end up with a speed bubble, leather cover, flipped diff cover etc to make it look decent.

I wouldn't go much more than 3" inro the frame. Unless you want to step the frame. up into the bed. You want to save enough metal on the sides of the frame to weld or bolt some plate too. My cpp notch is 3" deep. I chose to go that route rather than build my own simply because our frame is "S" curved right there and I thought the time saved was worth paying a lil more than material cost. Not that I'm right that's just what I chose being a passionate novice. Lol since your bagging tho,I would maybe consider stepping the frame. I am static and really only needed an extra inch just to be safe.
