rear end conversion
ok heres the deal a buddy of mine has a almost new 10 bolt 3:42 posi from his 85,my question is this how hard woul it be to convert it to fit into my truck?besides welding in the panhard bar support and moons for the trailing arms?see i have a 3:07 limited slip and it will cost me alot to convert it to posi with new gear and seals posi unit?and here the kicker hes gonna trade me the rear end for a tranny i got laying in my garage...well???? any help has anyone ever done this?...Steve

My neibors got a 1 ton posi from a 91 suburban....would this fit in a 1/2 ton truck?

i dont really see any reason why it wouldnt but youd have to change out the axles to 5 lug,i guess

posi and limited slip are the same thing. i think posi-traction was GM's term for a limited slip in fact.

It's a 70 chevy 1/2 ton....so yall think the 91 1 ton posi would fit?
