Picked up some buddy buckets off craigslist

A friend of mine found these on cl on Monday and sent me the link, I called on them and was able to pick them up Tues night. They were about 40 mins away from me. I paid $450 for them, bad timing for me to buy them with my engine job going, but we all know you can't pass them up when you find them.

Nice find.. ah.. but ya might wanna have someone else reupholster them for you & just get ready to pay the higher price. If they're anything like mine, reupholstering them correctly is something that might be worth having someone else do.

I definitely will, actually the friend that sent me the link owns an upholstery shop and does all my upholstery work for me, he does an incredible job. I'm thinking him sending the link is his way of making sure he has job security.

Fellow Member "Truck Seats" does an awesome job on covers for all of our seats. I bought a set for my Buddys and they are unbelievably nice, perfect fit. Mine were hard because my truck is 68 Light Green, and they helped me get the correct color vinyl. I also had them make me door panels and a headliner. You should check them out.
ps: I had them professionally installed

I think that may be the direction I go, factory covers from them and let my buddy install them. Your seats look great by the way.

Why do people want these seats? Because they're rare? To me it makes the interior look all jumbled up. To each his own.

For me, its because its not a mundane bench, because the middle seat folds down into an armrest, because it has a metal storage box under the middle seat, and because they look cool.

Re: Picked up some buddy buckets off craigslist

The armrest is the biggest issue for me, and it is nice to see something different than a bench.

Here's another option if you can't find buddy buckets. Awesome job by "outlaw70nova" on the 73-87chevytrucks.com site. "Homemade Bucket Seats."

I like the fact they bolt right in no modifications necessary.
I think they look good and you have some storage space. But that's just me.
