1988 1 owner crew cab

OK I'm primarily a 67-72 guy but have had a few squares. The other day I bought a 1 owner 1988 3500 crew cab ,white with blue interior. The old man I bought it from bought it here in KS and used it to pull his camper around. He pulled the tailgate off in 88 and put it in garage. Last week I bought the truck and flawless tailgate. Drove truck
60 miles without a hick up. I think I'm going to end up selling this truck to someone that will appreciate it more than myself. The 454 could use a tune up but runs fine its had ac converted to 134a already,Seats are near perfect, paint has some peeling on roof. You think I should address these things or leave it like it is? I'll get some pics up tomorrow. Thanks

Re: 1988 1 owner crew cab

I would first rebuild and tune the carb, change the oil, replace the cap and rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and fix anything else mechanical. Then I'd take off the running boards, clean the interior, tint the windows darker and give the body a good scrub down at the car wash. The rest of it I'd just leave. Looks like a good, solid truck with potential.

It has TBI so no carb to rebuild. That is one of the cool things about it. I'm not sure I'm looking but what would you want for it?

It has no rust anywhere which is hard to find. Planned on washing it up cleaning inside up and drive it until title gets back in my name. What kind of price do you folks see these going for?

Not really sure you should post it on the WIW to see what everyone thinks

Good find. I'm just north of you in Winfield, lol. I just bought an 88' crew 4x4 dually last summer. It is white with blue interior also. I wish I had the money. I'd love to have a 2 wheel to make a highway cruiser.

Re: 1988 1 owner crew cab

I would estimate between 5000.00 and 8000.00

Might even make more on ebay

I would pull the running boards...don't touch the paint

Nice unit...clean crews are hard to find...

Southern ones are baked and Northern ones are rusty.

Re: 1988 1 owner crew cab

I have not even washed the tree sap off yet. The pictures I have are the day I brought it home . Ill get it cleaned up this weekend and post pics of the truck . I thought you guys might like to see the truck. This square body is a cool style of GM trucks but I will just sell or trade off to my choice of 72 and older gm. Thanks for everyones comments and opinions they are much needed.

A wiring harness and early 4L80E swap, headers and cam would make it the perfect squarebody crew.
Nice score!!!

I'm not expecting to get 8, when I get title back first $4500 offer I get will buy the truck. I'll leave room for somebody else to clean it up a little and do what they want. I'm just going to give it a good bath and vacuum out. Send it on down the road and stay on my other projects.
