air bag nylon line routing into and out of cab

I'm going to be doing a manual bag setup on my truck (71 c10) in the weeks to come, bags and brackets are on their way as I type this. My question is to you guys who have done that manual setup, how did you route the nylon line? I was going to do copper but did some reading about some of the troubles with it and decided against that. So I'm going to keep it simple. Any and all info is appreciated! Thanks guys. And yes I did search and have been searching for a long time with no positive results.

Get rubber grommets for where the lines will pass through the floor. Don't try to make sharp bends with the lines. Get grommets to fit the hole in floor closely so the lines don't chafe on the metal.

Is it better to run through the front of the cab or the rear floor of the cab? Or does it makes a difference?

Use a routing path that won't put the lines in a bind & is the furthest away from any direct heat source. High quality rubber grommets are a must.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: air bag nylon line routing into and out of cab

As other's have said, grommets, avoiding sharp edges & heat are the best ways to run the lines. The other thing I did was to slide a sleeve over them as an added layer of protection. For example, I slid a small piece of 3/8" line over the 1/4" line where it would come through the firewall.

Also - make sure they're secured well. I missed one of my lines running to my gauges when securing them. That line twisted and fell onto my exhaust and opened a tiny pin hole. Fortunately it was after I had my compressors and tank installed, and I was just a couple miles from my house. But I still had to hold that valve open the whole way to keep it from dropping. I now carry tools & parts to patch/repair/replace my line just in case.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. What kind of tubing did you run your line in for protection?

You can run it inside regular rubber hose.

3/8" fuel line slit down the middle works great for protecting 3/8" air line.
