Hey guys, I just scored some factory steelies and was wondering what size tires you are running? They are going on my 1/2 ton swb. I was thinking P255/60r15. Anyone have pics of this size tire on the factory steelies?

235/75 should be close to the stock size. 255/70 and 275/60 will all be about the same height. I ran 255/70 on the rear of my last couple of trucks, and it fills the wheel wells really well in the rear on a lowered truck as well. The 275/60 might be a little wide for a 7" wheel though.

I guess I should've mentioned that I don't want the factory size. I just wanted to see the P255's to see how they sit on the rim. I like the tires to balloon a little bit.

I run 255/60r15's on my Camaro. I think they would look small on a truck unless it was lowered. We'll see if somebody posts a pic.

Here is my truck currently with 275/60r15's. It is lowered 2/5. The reason I was thinking 255/60's was because these tires are 60 series and I like the way fill up the wheel well. Do you think 255/70's will have a similar effect?

255/60 will be shorter and narrower than a 275/60. 255/70 will be taller and narrower than a 275/60.

60's have a shorter sidewall height vs 70's given the same section width (255/60 is shorter vs 255/70).

That's really cool. Looks like I'll have to go with 235/70r15's to keep roughly the same diameter. I just dialed in my speedo after my rear end swap and I don't want to change the adapter again. Thanks everyone!

Welp, went down to Les Schwab and just had them swap the aluminum mags out for the steelies and I kept the 275's. I'm actually pretty happy with it!

Sorry for the dark pic…it's raining here. Go figure.

Why not just paint/coat the alum wheels black? Less weight for sure....

Mostly I hated the rivets in them and the fact that you couldn't put a beauty ring on them. I may want to go that route in the future so I needed the steelies. I held them side by side this morning and the steel wheel is only heavier by maybe 3-5 lbs at best. No big deal.
