stuck oil pan

The oil pan in my 85 is stuck and wont budge. I took all bolts out and have tried prying it off with screwdriver, chisel and put 2 dents in it with a block of wood and a BFH. All this while laying under truck. I can see that a cork gasket was used. Any idea's? Thanks a lot for any tips.

Re: stuck oil pan

Got nothing for you other than look at each bolt hole and see if pan metal rolled up into block. Other than that, say pan is trash and go Kamikazee on it.

Re: stuck oil pan

possibly spray some carburetor cleaner, anti-rust lubricant, or? along edge of pan/block. might help soften the gasket material.

Permatex. Just keep tapping with a rubber mallet while you use either a thin scraper blade, a putty knife or one of those scraper razers that folks use the scrape stickers off windows. Make sure you got the bolts on both sides of the mains, front and back. For some reason they are commonly missed.
