picked up a 1-owner 67 c20 custom camper

got another truck!
my neighboirs problly think im ridiculous. its a 1-owner 67 c20 custom camper.
got it for a sweet deal.power brakes, manual steering, no ac, 3 ott 327 v8.coil over shocks on all 4.
the body is extremely solid with a hair bit of rust started on the top of the rocker. upon sliding under the truck its beautiful.

the history- the old lady and her husband bought it brand new in LA, california. it lived there and along the beach until 1992 when they moved to bullhead city,az.shortly after they decided to park in on the side of there garage cause they couldnt do the manual tranny anymore. it has sat since 1993.

i put in an hei, and a rebuilt edelbrock and it purs like a kitten! i had to put a spreadbore quadrajet intake, and keep the small square-bore rochester intake aside.carb./adapter for the thing was nearly exteinct.

wrapped around the steering column was registration/service papers/insurance papers a few dating back to 68 in her name pretty righteous! its so nice working on a truck that hasnt been tinkered on by idiots through years! pics to follow on phone!

That sounds like a real decent find. Just the way I like to find them. This is getting really hard to find and will be even worse in the future

So true! So,what are your plans? Shortbed 1/2t conversion, air ride with hoopy wheels so big you can't fit with inner fenders & hood hinges, shave the firewall, raise the bed floor, and LS conversion so you can have a computer?

Re: picked up a 1-owner 67 c20 custom camper

heres a few pics.
and a few interior cleaned up. al the trim is there mostly, just polishing it up before installing as with the tailgate.and everything works surprisingly.

i am thinking of trying to find a 67-72 4x4 or suburban. if i keep the truck i will maintain the factory heighth suspension and steel wheels and stock 327 throw some new tires on it and a cheap paint job. slap a receiver under it and use it for a cruiser/actual truck. no bags/20's/computer or shortbed for this bad boy. i might be a dying breed but sometimes i do like the longbeds or 3/4 tons and stock heigth. especially one that stayed stock like this one. as far as i can tell
