67-72 frame and vin plate question
Hey fellas I have a 71 swb frame I believe and I was wondering where I could find the partial vin# on the frame? The old fella I bought the frame from gave me a title to it. Also if I find a cab could it be possible to title it with the title from the frame? Thanks to all in advance for your help

Re: 67-72 frame and vin plate question
In most states it takes a cab title to register the truck, truck frames are changed out all the time, so the cab title is what is needed.

Re: 67-72 frame and vin plate question
I think the cab vin is the only way you can title the truck. Like mentioned, frames are changed all the time and here in Missouri, are not part of the titling process. The best thing you could do, is contact the dmv in your state and find out what is legal. I'd say getting a vin plate from the salvage yard or someone parting a truck out would be the way to go, however I have no idea if that's legal or not.
