Speedometer gears
Can anyone tell me what transmission gear I can use to get my speedo correct? Right now I show to be about 10 miles an hour slow. At 60 I show 50. I see there are three different color gears available. I imagine the original gear is in the transmission. Its a four bolt cover 3 spd. 65 chevy stepside with 283.
Thanks for any help you can give me. Ron |

Re: Speedometer gears
There are several gear calculators on line. To get it to work you need to know the rear gear and tire size along with the drive gear number of teeth. Then you can figure the number of teeth needed on the driven gear. It may require changing both gears.
