Wire Identification
I just dropped a new motor in my 72 C-10, 350/350tb and I cant seem to find these wires on the wiring diagram...As you can see in the pics, there is a two terminal connector with three wires,(green, blue, and brown) the green and blue wires share a terminal. There is a heavy gauge red or pink wire that I think may be a idle solenoid wire? And then there is black wire with a round terminal connector (maybe a transmission wire?) It was hanging unplugged from the frame rail near the rear of the starter. And lastly, the green wire hanging with it, it had no terminal connector, it has a white stripe it? It too was hanging loose on the right side near the frame below the firewall. "Please help, and Thanks!"

Transmission Controlled Spark. The round with boot to the switch on the transmission, the 2 prong connector to the switch mounted on the intake. Most have been disconnected and discarded years ago. Not sure about the single red wire, but looks like a power feed to something.

I just went out to look at my stock, 72 c-10.
That single red wire with the black connector sure looks like the wire connected to the idle stop solenoid for throttle linkage on driver side of carb.

Cool, Thanks you guys! I'll research discarding those wires. Ive replaced the tb350 with a beefed up version (heavy clutch pack, shift kit, heavy duty torque converter) Theres no electrical on it. The motor has a performer intake, I'm using the 1/2" pipe thread resister sending unit on the right head...I'm going to stick an MSD HEI distributor in it...I'm going to find out about that electronic idle wire, maybe I can use it to power the HEI...?

I just noticed on a pic in a different thread that the red wire could also be for an electric choke...although the connector did look a little different, but I suppose the black one you have could work on it too. Mine is a divorced choke, so I don't have that. What type of choke does yours have?? Just another thought for ya....

I think the red id idle stop solenoid too. My truck has a red wire with that connector to the solenoid.
