fuel injection idea, good or bad?
ok, here's my idea. I want to build a big block 496 stroker. I already have everything for the engine, but my idea on the fuel delivery is this: dual carb intake, by Edelbrock. Top it off with a pair of holley or equivalent 4-barrel throttle-body injection units. What do ya'll think? Any other ideas?Just trying to do something unique and yes, I realze it maybe a bit of a hassle, but I enjoy tinkering with stuff. Thanks for any input.

Sounds like a good idea to me. How about a port injected tunnel ram with a pair of billet throttle bodies on top. Good Luck....Stroker

I think it would be too much to synchronise. I know my dad talks about those old cars with two 4's were a *****, you get throwin in computers it might get really tricky. There are some MPI units that are big enough to feed that, thats what i'd go with.

I think it’s a good idea if you can get it to work, we tried it a couple a years ago on a 454 with a pair of holly TBIs . The problem was the 2 units think independent of each other and the air fuel ratios would go to extremes. The only way to get it to even idle stable was to force both units to run open loop. Now if you can get a single control unit that would run both sets of injector body’s I think it would be easily doable.

If your going to go thru all that then why not get a Hillborn manifold and covert it to multi port. Looks better and would run great.

If you mount the air valves on an airbox that is common to all ports, timing of the two units would not have to be exact. How about units mounted 180 degrees from each other with their bases being parallel to each other? Kinda like a mailbox with an airvalve mounted on each side. That would be odd. Would that make it AIRMAIL? LOL

you could run the holley 900cfm tb's in parallel to the single computer and get it screaming in no time. you might have to get another driver for the extra injectors but i think holley's new fi system supports that. you can run it any way you want it
