72 jimmy center console

What is the correct original center console for a 72 Jimmy? I see some have rectangle openings (for smoke packs?) and others have nice round openings for drinks Second question is that part of the console removeable, as to replace rectangle openings with round ones? Aftermarket ones avail?

Re: 72 jimmy center console

The correct console for 69-72 Blazer/Jimmy is the one with rectangular holes. They are for holding the seatbelt. The round hole consoles are for 73 and up.

The cupholder one is removable. Not sure on the seatbelt one.

Re: 72 jimmy center console

I have had both in my truck and currently it is home to the '73-'77 console. I find the seatbelt remains buckled around me when I'm in the truck and the cupholder is MUCH more useful than the empty seat belt holder.
