Hooker Aerochamber mufflers
I want to change up my exhaust and I was looking at the Aerochambers.....Anybody run with them ?
My current set up is a Flowmaster high flow cats and pipes with a stock intermediate pipe with a DI/SO Flowmaster 50 series exiting from the side... Now I am thinking of changing it to a Dynomax performance intermediate H pipe into dual Aerochamber mufflers dumped over the rear axle... I like a lil rumble at idle but don't like it so loud I have to yell and my passengers... I was looking into Spintech but they all seem so loud Anybody running this exhaust or something similar , or do you have a better exhaust in mind to run Thanks |

Re: Hooker Aerochamber mufflers
The aerochamber looks like a turbo style muffler so it should be good for what you want. I recently installed a flowtech raptor turbo muffler on my 93 and it has a great rumble at idle and under acceleration but is almost silent at cruise.

Re: Hooker Aerochamber mufflers
I have some aerochambers on my old amc matador. They are a great sounding muffler, I had 3" flowmasters dumped before the rear axle and went to 2 1/2" magnaflows with full tailpipes. Then didn't like the mags sound at idle(to quiet) so had the hookers put in their place. I also have a buddy that has them on his 92 454 SS truck with full 2 1/2" tailpipes and they sound good on it. They sound like a combo of a flowmaster and a magnaflow with less vibrations and noises in the cab. IMO
My 90 GMC has 2 into one cat and dual out with glasspacks & full tailpipes. I'll go with the hookers when and if I do exhaust on it.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, they all sound pretty good just some better than others, it's all personal preference

Re: Hooker Aerochamber mufflers
True, I always like the sound of a turbo style muffler on cars but my truck should be no different...I do wish it was Cammed it would give it a better exhaust note , but I can always do that to....
I heard the spintechs that everbody raves about but I must be getting old cause there just annoying to me |
