cut springs (how much?)
hey every one
I was up at the Jefferson Wi swap meet and picked up some 3/4 ton front springs for $15 so I want to cut them for my 1/2 ton and would like a 2" drop but I'm not sure if i cut just one coil it will drop my 1/2 ton 2" I know i'll loose some ride quality but I'm all for it my truck has more sway then my pontoon boat! firming up the ride is really part of what I'm after the lower stance is the other part right now I have a 2/4 drop and its just not cutting it i want to make it 4/6 drop |

Re: cut springs (how much?)
2 coils will do 4" typically. So 1 should do well. I've always used a chop saw.

I'd say yes. I've always used 3/4 and 1 ton coils and came out within a 1/2" of each other

Re: cut springs (how much?)
2.5" drop spindles & cut 1-coil off your 'new' used 3/4 ton springs.
