31" tires need lift?

i have a 94 GMC Sierra 4X4 and i was thinking of running 31X10.50-15 I was originally going to run 33's with a 3 in body lift but i am thinkin about puttin 31's without a body lift because im trying to make this a good looking truck on a very tight budget. So will i need any kind of lift to run 31's? Any other ideas to make my truck look good on a tight budget?

You should easily be able to run 32X11.50-15s. 265-75R16s were a stock size for that body style truck, and they are basically a 32 inch tire. You do need wheels with the correct backspacing for that body style truck though. The backspacing should be 5 to 5 1/2 inches. Most 15 inch wheels have 3 1/2 inch backspacing which makes the tires stick way out of the fenders on the '88 - '98 body style trucks. I am not sure if a 15 inch wheel with the correct backspacing will fit over the front brakes on that truck.

well the tires that are on it are 225-75R16 and these are the size tires that came on the truck stock. This was a work fleet truck before i got it but i know for sure that these are the same size tires as it came with stock. Any other info would be appreciated!

The body, and wheel openings are all the same, no matter the designation...work truck,.. Silverado, etc. The Z71 package came with the LT 265 series tires, as Blazer 1970 said, and they will fit all the full size trucks. My 95 4x4 came with LT 245 series, and when it was time to replace them, I went to LT 265. They look better, because they fill the wheel opening more, and are on the same rims, with no clearance problems.

Hey guys thanks for all the info. Class of 69, is there anyway you could show me a pic of your truck with the 265's on them? If anyone else would happen to have pics they would also be appreciated!

I had 32x11.50's on a 15X10 in wheel onmy 94 chevy, not sure of the backspacing but they stuck way out just like blazer said and the only clearance prob i had was the air dam on the front but i just trimmed it a lil. oh I also had my t-bars turned. but 31's should fit just fine
