1999 vortec V8?
I'm looking at buying a 1999 silvarado to do an engine tranny swap in my 83' C10. What should I know about this engine? Is it worth the effort or would I move on?

We don't know which engine you are looking at, 4.3, 5.0, 5.7
Either one were very good engines when they came here. No one knows what condition that particular engine is in now. |

The 5.3 is worth the swap,Most use to over look it because it wasn't a 6.0 but now people are starting to love it.Look around online a few magazines have built some nasty 5.3s with bolt on off the shelf parts.
