Factory or aftermarket
Finally got my donor truck stripped to the frame. I'm curious to know what kind of bumper this is.

Re: Factory or aftermarket
Looks like a generic aftermarket or home made step bumper.

Re: Factory or aftermarket
If it's homemade, they did a pretty good job. Is it worth keeping and try to sale it or just pitch it? Doesn't fit my build.

Take a look at some other step bumpers like yours, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...aler+installed

Re: Factory or aftermarket
It has some value, try to sell before pitching, i would be interested in just the bumper tips if you decide to pitch. I am trying to convert my fleetside bumper to a step side bumper.

Re: Factory or aftermarket
Just about all step bumpers were dealer installed, so there are a range of suppliers, dependeing on who the dealer used. MOST were made by Fey, who had several styles.
These trucks normaly came from the factory to the dealer without rear bumpers, unless ordered with the style bumper. This is my understanding anyway and I am sure I will get corrected, LOL |

Re: Factory or aftermarket
Ok. I'll try to sale it. Need money anyways for my build. LOL. Been selling parts of my donors to help fund my addiction.
Tincan1966, don't feel bad I get corrected a lot. Lol |

Re: Factory or aftermarket
That type of step bumper allows the gate to hang plumb. I'm guessing useful for backing flush up to a loading dock or anywhere the gate might otherwise be in the way. Not homemade, but rather somewhat specialized.
