Installing new window sash's

I Hate to sound like an idiot, I've searched the forums a couple times but couldn't find what I was looking for.. My question is this.. I bought new window sash's (Channels at the bottom of the glass) and bought the 2 strips of rubber to use to install the new channels to the glass... But I can't seem to get the rubber on the window and into the new sash... Is there a trick to this?? can I align my window if it off a little bit?? Looking for a bit of help with this one... Thanks guys!!

I have just used urethane or silicone in the past and haven't had any problems

Forget about the rubber , use windshield sealing urethane install the track(sash) in the door onto the regulator and lay a bead of urethane in the track then lower the glass into the track and roll the window up carefully it will seat itself and dry overnite .easy job

I'm prepared to do this today as well. I have a shipment with my window sash rubber coming, and I bought the adhesive just in case I couldn't get it done. I'll let you know how it turns out if you haven't already moved forward. Best of luck with your windows!

I used oil tape. Get it at glass shop. Its rubber tape that swells when you put oil on it. Wrap around window, rub motor oil on outside edge, then slip into frame. It will fit in pretty easy. The oil will start expanding the tape in minutes. I believe this is what the factory used?

Just used the 3m weatherstrip glue, it
worked well.

Thanks everyone for the responses... I tried (plan A) today installing the sash's. I wrapped the glass with the rubber strip but couldn't get sash over the rubber... But on second attempt I soaked the rubber with soapy water and used a small rubber mallet and the sash's slipped right over top of the rubber, and fit perfectly... I then took an x'acto and trimmed the excess rubber off and it looks great!! I think we got lucky, it went to easy today.. Thanks again guys for the help!!

Really good help, I have been struggling with the sash for a few hours recently but tomorrow will use 3m adhesive and hopefully it works like you guys.

Come on Over and we'll fix you right up... Might be a bit of a drive though, Oh and pick up the Beers on the canadian side they have alittle more bite..
