Factory Horn Location for HI and Lo
Guys,
I have a horn location question. I recently found the both the Hi and Lo horns for a 71 to 72 Cheyenne, (maybe the same for earlier years too) along with the correct jumper harness. I know the basic location of the horns is on the driver-side radiator support. I also have a workshop manual. My question is, where exactly does the Hi horn mount? I would love to see a picture of a factory install. The way the brackets are mounted to the horns I cannot seem to make them both fit comfortably. Thanks for any and all help Double C |

Re: Factory Horn Location for HI and Lo
I can't guarantee this is factory but I believe it is. Not sure which one is high or low.

Re: Factory Horn Location for HI and Lo
I have a '71 C20 with the factory 2nd battery tray on the driver's side. One horn's bracket is bolted to the underside of the tray, the other is just outboard and below that, bolted to the radiator support. See below (the first pic has the battery tray removed, the second one has the horn from the radiator support unbolted but you can see the hole just below left from the headlight hole).

Re: Factory Horn Location for HI and Lo
Thanks guys, I think I understand the horn locations now from the pictures. Thanks.
The Lo Horn is attached to the rad support on the left side of the radiator and the Hi horn goes on the front core support under the left headlight. Again thanks! Double_C |
