Front suspension breakdown and reassembly - Tutorial?
Are there any threads on here that show a good tutorial on dissasembly/reassembly of our front suspension systems? I'm planning on taking mine all apart and inspecting...then reassembling. Looking for tips/tricks.
The goofy part is I have 73-87 spindles and I'm unsure what else has been swapped to make that work. Not sure if it's the tie rods (inner? outer?) and I think one of the ball joints? I think the control arem bushings are the hex-adjust type? Easy to remove and replace? Thanks! |

good time for you to make a tutorial take some before and during and after picks ...
its not that bad i did mine with a 85 chev donor truck parked next to my 69 and just unbolted everything and slid it under my 69 and it all bolted up ,but i did change the lower ball joints, i swapped both a arms top and bottom |

Re: Front suspension breakdown and reassembly - Tutorial?
Their is some description on my build under forum 1973-87
" 1986 Chevy C10........" Aotte1 It is not a complete discussion, but does have some pics and discussion. Be careful removing front springs!!! They can be very dangerous-removing and installing. Also a local machine will be a help too, for a few of the procedures, if your tool box is not well stocked I use them to save myself time on some of the more forceful tasks. Go slow, post your next step and you will have help here. Mark and label stuff as you take apart, along with pictures before disassemble. I alway surprise myself on what I forgot, once I get back to putting it back together, once the universe is done with me for the week! On many of the procedures their are several ways to do them, just use one that works for you, exception-springs-danger. Good luck, Les |

This is about the best one I can recall seeing on here. Good luck. It really isn't super hard once you just tear into it. Sounds like the hardest part will be ID'ing what you have for sure and getting the correct parts. |
