air bag suspension but not to lay frame
i would like about a 3"-5" drop but want a nice ride. i assume air bags would be a good choice but i am not into the whole low rider frame dragging thing. is it worthwhile to do bags in this case or should i just go with a static drop springs and spindles?
i dont want to run into the problem of the truck becoming undrivable if i have an air leak so i still want some ground clearence with the bags deflated. is that possible? i know very little about the air bag systems so some schooling here would be much appreciated this is all hypothetical as i dont yet have a project truck just trying to get my plans in order |

Bagging is like a can of Pringles! Once you drop you can't stop!
If I were you I'd just static drop it and drive it. |

First off... What year truck are you considering?
For such a mild drop, I'd just do spindles & call it good up front. For the rear, it depends on the type of suspension.

Havent totally decided but leaning towards 67-72. Possibly a 2wd suburban or blazer. Trailing arm rear suspension a must if i go that route

Re: air bag suspension but not to lay frame
For that drop, stick w/just spindles & coils up front. You could do bags up front but they wouldn't be necessary unless you really are set on having bags @ a 4 corners. I would do bags for the rear because of their adjustability which is a priority in a blazer or burb.

No, it's not ok... you want to bag your truck, don't be talked out of it. Check out the porterbuilt stage 1 suspension kit. Hopefully Nate from Porterbuilt can even chime it with a list of the right parts. But all you pretty much need will be offered by him, or one of his supporting vendors, like AzProPerformance. even if you just want a cool slammed ride, if you bag it, you have a sweet stance to cruise at the shows and a practical ride height for everyday rumpus.

I'm with SCOTI start off with drop spindles you can always reuse them later if you want to bag it.

Re: air bag suspension but not to lay frame
Travis at AZProPerformance will guide you in the right direction. I agree with broey.
My set up is a Porterbuilt Stage 1 front, Stage 2 rear basic, discs with dropped spindles, and manual management bags. Can't go wrong. Best decision ever made and won't regret. I even did it on my '66 swb, and '63 Panel. Of course a Blazer or Burb will be a challenge but can be done. I'm sure the deeper the pocket, the better the outcome. I say, you gonna drop it, slam it!!! Good luck
