Control Arm Shafts?
I'm in the process of acquiring and prepping parts for a drop on my truck, and plan to replace ball joints, tie rods, etc. Is it necessary to replace the upper and/or control arm shafts, or can I just clean them up and paint them as long as they are in good condition?

Re: Control Arm Shafts?
Clean up and paint is fine on those if they are in good shape.

Re: Control Arm Shafts?
Agree with previous poster Jimmy, I reused mine. Picture of cleaned-up shafts, from 1986, C10.
One other note, FYI, Moog makes offset upper control arms shafts, to help alignment if your truck has seen hard use during its life, and the front crossmember is sagging a little. They help by moving the upper control arm shaft out a little to compensate for crossmember sagging. They would be available if issue arises when getting alignment after all back together. Les |

Re: Control Arm Shafts?
Awesome, thanks for the responses guys. I'll plan to blast and paint them. I figured there wouldn't be a need to replace them unless there was some odd wear on the bushing ends. Thanks for the alignment tip as well!
