4-row radiator conversion support adjustment

Anyone have pictures of what your adjusted rad support looks like? How much will I need to take out? Trying to decide if I'm going to 3-row or 4-row radiator in the near future.

Thanks, guys.

Why mess with the Rad Support? Be Cool has a direct fit 4 row rad that is good to 700 HP with the electric fans. It even uses the stock lower rad mount and pads.

Re: 4-row radiator conversion support adjustment

I don't know if this will help, but I installed a radiator from Autozone.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...7011_266534_0_

It was too big to fit my old radiator supports, so I got some 4-row supports off the parts board and it installed just fine. I didn't have to change or cut anything except to cut out a little portion of the lip of the support (not sure the actual part) right below the radiator to accomodate for the longer length of the radiator support. I can't find out from the Autozone site if it's a 4 or 3 row and the counter monkeys are of no help, so I don't know if it's a 4-row. However, based soley on size, it fit without any other mods besides the small cut for the bigger supports.

I did exactly what LSUMurse did with a 4 row. I bought my rad mounts from Brothers I think. Dont like the look though because the have tabs for fan shroud that mine does not have. Will change out one day.

It is very easy. I used my die grinder with a cutting blade. Just cut the lip on the support bend flat, once you put the lower mounts on you will not even see it.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I'll get a grinder and give it a shot!

All I did to mine was bend the lip over with vice grips.

That sounds even better, John! I'll give it a shot in a week or so.
