horn wiring help please
It's me again with another question. I was just going working on horn system turn to find out I have a direct sort in the wiring. How is the horn wired? Anyone have a wiring diagram for horn? Does the wire go from steering column to fuse panel and then the wire going to horn come out on the other side of fuse switch? Thanks for any information on wiring

Re: horn wiring help please
just found a wiring diagram. I know a lot of you would just wire new wiring with a switch but i'm trying to do this right. looks like what i'm looking for now is a horn relay. where would this horn relay be?

Re: horn wiring help please
The horn relay is located under the dash.
On most of these trucks, it's plugged into a socket that's bundled to the wiring harness above the fuse panel. But starting in 1985 (I believe), GM added a "convenience center" ... sort of a little sub-panel that holds the horn relay, hazard flasher, and key/seatbelt buzzer. If I remember correctly, that convenience center is located above (and just off to the side) of the gas pedal. |
