Hauled 12,000Lbs of cattle up to the Colorado mountains I look to learn more about the bigger trucks, and more of their info. this truck runs a drive great, starts well and tires are goof for what Im doing, I need something for local hauling. |

Re: 1968 c60
Looks good.
I bet it would look great with a little body work and fresh paint. The Sheet Metal itself looks pretty good. Like the Spoke Wheels. The 292 is a great Engine. Are you sure it is only a 4-Speed? I guess you could get one that way, but seems more likely for it to be a 5-Speed. Plenty enough gears if it ain't though. What is the GVW on it? Bill

Re: 1968 c60
How are the brakes? I did a 72 and the Brake rebuild about killed me
I am starting work on my 67 C50 pickup conversion and I am using a 92 TopKick Rear to get Disk Brakes

Re: 1968 c60
Hey colgad.
I saw your truck.build and pictures. You did a great job with it My brakes work great dont know anything about lifespan or when they were done last. This one will probably stay originally like it is, but in my recent findings I might be getting another C50. Maybe its a difference between the large hubs and small hubs. When you say brakes almost killed you...as in thet were so bad you couldn't stop? |

Re: 1968 c60
Beside's the brake line splitting and squirting brake fluid all over the exhaust and the smoke filling the cab so I could not see. They never tried to kill me.
The worst part was getting the drums on and off. My back will never be the same. I recommend putting on a dual master to split up the brake system. I do love the look of the Big 67-72 Trucks and can't wait to get started on my 67 C50 pickup project. I almost forgot to tell you my first car was a 1963 Chevy II 100, 153 4 cyl Iron Duke, Three speed.

Re: 1968 c60
Great shot for reference! Thank you! I've got plans for a '67-68 C40 or '50 as a car hauler/shop truck and was wondering about your wheelbase, is it 189" or 203" maybe?
