Re: 66 swb 283
thanks guys, well i found out the paint was the saddle two tone. color code 555 so i think that will be my color choice. not sure on witch way i want to go with it just yet. i need to pull off the cab and bed so me and my friend can blast them. then i have to fix all the rust issues on the cab and the bed. i want to bag it,would like to run porterbuilt but its not in my price range. may go a cheaper route but im still on the fence about it. =P

Re: 66 swb 283
Welcome to the forum. Sweet lookin truck.
When I picked up mine I knew what I wanted to do but was hesitant at first on starting. I wanted to enjoy the truck as it was and wasn't sure if I truly had the stones to do what I wanted. After a month or so of driving it around the block I started in on the build and its never been the same. Dive right in I say. |

Re: 66 swb 283
I'm a little late, but welcome to the forum
Looks like you got a fairly straight and solid truck to build. I'm looking forward to the progress.

Re: 66 swb 283
thanks captainfab, it is pretty solid but has its rust issues, like some spots on the floor, the cowl behind the fresh air vents and the inner rockers. but over all i dont think it will be that bad. just will take some time and money.

Re: 66 swb 283
well i started on the truck again after a knee injury (torn meniscus). been relaxing for awhile. still got to have surgery to get it fixed. but i started back on my truck. trying to get it down to the frame and put the bag set up on the frame. well any who. here are a but load of pix.....oh and a side note. i have a 283/powerglide with one piece driveshaft and 12 bolt rearend. my question is will a two piece drive shft bolt up? im bagging my truck and dont want to cut into my cab. i think thats what ppl said you have to do with a one piece driveshaft.

Re: 66 swb 283
Gotta say bud...you have little to no rust compared to some of the trucks I've seen and worked on!!!

Re: 66 swb 283
Congrats on the truck, keep up the good work. I know the feeling with the torn knee. It stinks but hey once it's done you'll be back on it like no other. Keep up the good work.
