stock ride height

can you install an ifs system and maintain stock ride height or higher(can it be lifted)? What is least expensive setup. don't want to cut frame , want to leave it whole and upgrade suspension and steering. What steering system do I need? truck is 58.

Re: stock ride height

You can use the cradle out of a 73-87, and if you get one with 1.25 thick rotors you can swap them out with 92 C2500 rotors to keep it 6 lug.

Re: stock ride height

Look at the build threads of the guys who have installed Jag XJ crossmembers under Task force trucks. It would be pretty easy to set one at your stock ride height.

73/87 is several inches too narrow for a Task Force without cutting the frame up. 28 and something frame width as apposed with the 34 inch frame with of the TF trucks. Guys keep dragging that idea out and it won't work without wholesale frame mods.

I don't know of any aftermarket chassis shop that outright offers a stock height crossmember simply because there isn't much of a market for them. You could check with Steve at Industrial Chassis in Phoenix to see he could build you one of his using Dodge Dakota pieces that would work as he pretty well builds them on a one on one basis but expect to pay a premium, Expect pay a premium for any stock height aftermarket setup as far as that goes.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: stock ride height

Thank for the info. After much thought and research my wife and I decided to stay with our original idea 4x4 conversion.
