NP 205 speedo gear. Where do you find them??

My 72 Blazer made the driven gear for my speedometer in the 205 look like an apple core. I have the solid metal style. Does anyone know where they can be found? At this point, I don't even care if the teeth are wrong. If they are, I'll use a ratio adapter.

Thanks...but both of those are drive gears. I need the driven gear that the cable slides into.

I've got one that the gear is good on but it has a cable broken off inside it. The other I have has the worn teeth. I'm going to see if a machinist friend can make me a new one. I wish I knew if the newer stuff would work. I was sure hoping someone had a gear.

Re: NP 205 speedo gear. Where do you find them??

IIRC, there are four different gears. You might want to calculate your tire and final gearing to pick the closest gear.

Re: NP 205 speedo gear. Where do you find them??

Did you ever find one? I got one off of a Dodge and had a hard time finding one at that. Ford is different. I tried Quad 4x4 and it had been discontinued. I ended up buying a tail housing with the housing, drive and driven gears off of evil bay. Was around 125 with shipping. It was expensive but I was pretty desperate.

I had another gear that had a speedo cable broken off in it and one that the gear was chewed up. I couldn't get the cable out so I had the gears cut in half and drilled for a dowel pin to align the 2 halves. I measured the overall length before and made sure it was the same before tig welding the halves together. Basically took the best of both and made one good one.

Re: NP 205 speedo gear. Where do you find them??

Guys, mine works great but I have friend building a truck and his 205 is missing the gear. I still need a gear for him if anyone has one.
