Adjust door hinges- sitting a little low
The doors on my 71 C20 sits just a tad low- if I lift it a little it closes fine. If I don't lift it, it still closes, but I have to give it a harder swing and it hits the bottom of the door frame with a loud bang before closing.
There is some vertical play, but not a significant amount.. I have to look closely to see it. Is there a way to just adjust the entire hinge and have it sit higher? Or do I have to get new door pins/bushings? |

Re: Adjust door hinges- sitting a little low
If you can move the outer half of the hinge by lifting up on the door, then replacing the pins would be a good idea. However, the vertical adjustment on the door is in the body half of the hinge. I've seen pics of a 'Special' wrench the GM put out for getting to the bolts behind the fender, but I've always just removed the fender.

Does anyone know if these hinge pins will fit? : http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/714512/00192
They look right but not sure of the diameter. Anyone know? |

It looks different than GMC PAUL'S and I would trust his stuff over any of the national parts stores any day.
