78 C30 steering box in my 68 C30
I've read a number of threads relative to this swap and have come to the conclusion that this is in essence a bolt in situation. My 68 has power steering as does the 78, but the articles I've read don't discuss which power steering pump assembly is/are being used. I'm swapping out all the front suspension from the 78 to install on my 68, but the 78 has a Hydro boost p/s pump, Is it advisable to continue using the pump from 68? Thanks in advance for any and all info.

The hydraboost is for the brakes to assure that vacuum will be there when needed like in diesel trucks they have to pump their own to have any

The steering gear should bolt right on, however the input shaft is smaller on that gear than the 68. That is if you have the integral steering gear already and not the power assist steering. When you take the steering gear off the 78 be sure to take the rag joint also. That way you know that you have one that will work. WES
