2005 silverado oil pressure
Well need some more help. I had posted a issue with steering but now need some engine help. My oil gauge seems lower than normal. At idle in gear the gauge is showing 18psi or so. At crazing constant speed pressure is 20 or 22. When you get on it the pressure goes up to 35 then settled as you let off to 20. I did last oil change about 1500 miles. Filter purilator gold.
Is the pressure normal? Seems low to me thanks

Re: 2005 silverado oil pressure
The gage in the cluster is terrible inaccurate. The only way to know for sure what your oil pressure is would be to use a oil pressure test gage. It would thread in where the oil pressure sending unit is. It's not the easiest place to get to on ls engines. Then you can run your engine and see actual oil pressure.

Re: 2005 silverado oil pressure
Thanks. Any place that I can see what GM notes as acceptable pressure for this year?
