My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
Ok so they fit the front with no problems. The rear hub is 3.5" on truck and the hub hole on the wheel is 3"....... Are people A just cutting the hub on the wheel larger. b- using spacers and not bothering that the wheel is hub centric. or C- i have no clue

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
so if they are not bothering with the fact they are hub centric why not just "waller" the hole out. Or can you find a apacer that has a 3.5" hole then reduced down to a 3" hub for the wheel to center on

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
I would just pull the axles and have them turned down to 3". Of course they need to leave enough of the 3.5" diameter to locate the brake drum.

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
Anyone with a lathe, with a large enough spindle bore can turn the axles. That would be much less $$ that modifying the wheels, and maybe even less than spacers. I don't like wheel spacers.

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
I will not do spacers.....I can go on forever how unsafe they are. 6 years with firstone management ive seen the results. And refused to service vehicles with them. The refusal is a big deal with all the major companies firestone, discount tire, and NTB.

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
captain fab looking at your rear disc swap for 6 lug trucks with 16" plus wheels. Is the 3.06 measurement the hub size for the 99-2013 silverados/tahoe/sub? Thinking about just buying your rear disc swap kit. ALso do you offer an axle swap out option you mail me machined ones and i send ya back my "cores"

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
I am discontinuing that rear disc bracket and will be replacing it with another soon. Yes the 3.06 hub diameter is pretty much standard with the truck based hubs since about '71. No I do not own a lathe, so shipping axles back and forth wouldn't make much sense. You should be able to get yours machined locally for much less than that would cost. You will also want to check your existing axles to be sure the wheel/axle bearing surface in not worn too much or pitted. If they are, there is no point in putting money into having them machined.

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
I had a local hot rodder (who has a machine shop drill a 5 x 5 lug pattern and install new studs, he also turned the center hub down so we could use a 5 lug brake drum off of a 71 chevy.....here is what it looked like when we were finished. http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-8bbRfcq
with the new 71 finned 5 lug drum.... http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-4G39bfw cost about 125.00 check with hot rodders in your area, there is a guy who will do this inexpensively......in your area.......Kieth |

And thats what im looking for. Someone to redrill and turn mine down to fit.
Also agree with Capt. about turning the axel over turning the wheel.

Re: My 22" transport wheels dont fit rear
Found a local aka 60 miles each way to do it for 80 bucks..... Big city prices here.... youll spend a grand just getting a 350 set up for a stroker kit. Most machine shops i called said thats custom work 400 bucks! they will price themselves out before they will do the work.
