Question for when its painted!
Hi.
Later on the truck will be fully painted. We are raising the bed floor and have made the frame for the bed bolt on to the fenders just to have the possibility to disassembly the bed like original. But then it hit me, how the F should we be able to put it back together without scratching the paint. So how did you guys do when you painted it. Had the bed put together or in pieces? If its in pieces it gets paint everywhere.. Just dont know wich way to go. Weld the frame to the bed sides and just have it in one piece

Re: Question for when its painted!
I have a 1968 c10 short box step side as well. We just finished painting all of the box pieces this last weekend and I am going to assemble it this weekend. Hopefully it goes smoothly. I was just looking at the last post pictures of the box sides being mounted. How are you going to secure the bulk head panel bolts if the box sides are mounted to the cross members first on the truck?

Re: Question for when its painted!
Make sure to hang all panels in the oreintation of the way they go on the truck, meaning if the panel is standing up on the truck don't lie it down to paint it . It will mess with the metallic flow and change the color to some degree. Jim

Re: Question for when its painted!
I've noticed that on solid colors too.
