Truck just shuts off

I drive a 67' c10 with a 400sbc here recently I was going down the road and it started to sputter and jerk acting as if it was not getting enough gas. Pulled over sat for a few minutes and got it safely home. Turned it off. Started it back and it would shut off unless you keep giving it gas. I checked for vacuum leaks but there were none. Just wondering what the problem could be? Thanks for the help in advance.

I was going to change them out. It has two, not sure which one to change or to do both.

Try taking the gas cap off and starting it. There may be a vent issue with the tank that is creating a vacuum inside. Just happened to me with my lawnmower recently, some bug made a little home in the vent and it ran fine for a bit, but then wouldn't stay running without the choke

Re: Truck just shuts off

A few things to look at. Do easiest, cheapest first.

Fuel filters as mentioned above. If in doubt, replace both of them.

Again as mentioned above, if the cap has been replaced with a non venting one, that cold be the problem.

Ruptured fuel pump gasket. I had one that barely pumped gas and would die after a few minutes.

Junk inside the carb. Have to dismantle and clean it.

Thanks for all the replies! In the end I ended up changing both fuel filters and she runs like queen.
