Reproduced plugs for door weatherstrip - anyone tried these?
Has anyone made use of the repro plugs for the rear of the door weatherstrip? Curious how the fit is. Shown in LMC catalog here (#12): http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=13
Thanks.

I should be putting them in next week. I'll let you know how they fit.

I tried them with no success. They are quite a bit harder than the weatherstrip. They are constantly popping out and have actually split the weatherstip at the top.

Good to know - I wonder if the OEM plugs did the same or if some weatherstrip adhesive would keep them in place.

I didn't like them. I just pinched the top of the tube closed and glued it shut. Looks fine IMHO.

I also tried them, and found them way too hard, to be useable.

Tried them and they wouldn't stay in. Popped out everytime the door was shut. I tried using heavy duty glue and it didn't help.

Huh - sounds like these aren't worth the $$ then.

Agree with above, not worth the money. Hard fit and popped out, not sure if you'd have better luck with a different supplier than LMC?
Good luck--Matt |
