Exclamation question for 54 gmc doors

Do you guys know if the earlier doors will fit a 1954 gmc? I would like to change to the one piece windows. I think I read somewhere where the handles and strikes are different, can I just change out the tracks and glass to the piece. If so what year is best or does is matter?
