Door alignment ..need help ?????

Hy all

So far the vertical and horizontal position is ok, but the door is not even with the cab...that means on the height of the door handle it is overlapping and on the lower part it is dipping to deep..

Tomorrow i will upload some pics, maybe it is a bit easier for u to understand my problem....sorry for my poor english.

I hope you have some advices for me

Thanks a lot

Regards
Achim

The easiest way to adjust doors is to loosen the bolts with someone inside to tighten them. With the bolts loose, close the door, adjust the door to where the gaps look good and the lines are correct, while you hold it in place have the person inside tighten every thing. This will get you very close to where it needs to be.

They do seem to spread as your doing gaps, if it truly has then get a strip of 18 or 16 ga. metal and weld it to the cowl door sill or rear door sill of cab it will take up the gap width nicely.

My experience has been they were not perfect from the factory, usually you can pick two line the front and top to get perfect and live with the other two, or resolve yourself to adding of deleting material. If its an AD stovebolt.com has a lot of tech articles on alignment. MartinSR usually chimes in with his info too, if you search it should show up.

They are tough to get. If you have not done the body work yet I would suggest get it close, cut the cab in a pie shape and move in and out as needed. Tack, weld grind and fill
