Fan shroud help

Went to install my radiator shroud tonight but it's to small for the blade diameter. I'm running a serpentine belt and clutch fan system off of a 92 4.3 liter v6 out of an s10. What shroud do I need? Please help

Re: Fan shroud help

Do you have a tape measure, the old fan, and the new fan?
What are the fan diameters?

Don't have the old fan. I'm running a a 4 core radiator and a 1992 model serpentine system with the factory 5 blade metal fan that came with the serpentine set up. There is no way the fan will go in the shroud because the factory 1992 model fan and the factory 1970 shroud opening both measure 19 1/2" in diameter. Any ideas on what shroud will work and where to get it????

Re: Fan shroud help

I changed my fan blade to an 18". Just make sure it is reverse rotation.

Re: Fan shroud help

I lucked out and found a '90 s vintage fan shroud off a Buick V8 in the wrecking yard, plenty big. Had to get creative with bolting etc.

Here's one. Also local parts stores can order one for you.

I bought one of these. They have all kinds of sizes for different applications.

Re: Fan shroud help

Thanks everyone. I found a 17" fan blade off of a jeep but it sure looks small. Will it be big enough to move enough air to keep it cool? If not I will order an 18" fan and give that a try.

Re: Fan shroud help

The stock 4 blade that was stock on mine was 18". I wouldn't go any smaller than that. Overheating leads to major problems down the road.

I think your right. Just ordered an 18 blade from summit. They matched the price from the etrailer link you provided in your earlier post. Hope it fits! Thanks for all the help....
