Driver's door lock issue...
I did not want to steal another person's thread (IntegratedTJ) but I have a similar problem with my '69 C10. Older resto, great door gaskets...both passenger and drivers door shut great without binding.
Driver door key lock works smooth and locks the door fine with no binding when the door is open. Close the door, Key will not fully turn to the lock position. It will start the move of the rod but will stop midway and not allow me to lock the door. Passenger door works fine. Also with drivers door closed, cannot manually lock the door from inside either. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Driver's door lock issue...
Order a new door latch. $52 dollars at the truck shop. Had the same problem. Tried everything I could do to to fix it. Tried door adjustment and lubrication of the entire lock assemble. Nothing worked. Took a door latch assembly out of a parts truck, put it in and worked perfectly. After taking it out and looking at it. It had a worn and broken part inside the assemble. Might have been able to repair it. But after 40 years of service sometimes things just wear out. Good luck my friend. PS. Used to live in SD back in the late 80's. Can't beat the weather. Love the junk yards down by the boarder. Pay a dollar to get in and pull your own parts. Scored a lot of great parts down there.

Re: Driver's door lock issue...
Thank you for the reply!
My wife and I have been trying to get out here for some time now. Finally was able to work a transfer, now its permenant. We have a home in Phoenix and will be sharing our time between SD and Phoenix. I will do what you suggested and replace both door locks so I don't end up with multiple keys. I had to change the window regulator in the drivers door anyway it will be a two for one special!
